Does decreasing your stress, calming your mind, deepening your spiritual connection, and increasing your overall happiness and health sound like something you might like to have more of in your life?

Then I invite you to look at what a spiritual practice might do for you.

Before you get all weirded out about what you think it might be, let’s just keep it basic.  A spiritual practice is something you do every day and allows you to connect to your deepest self, your soul self.

A spiritual practice doesn’t have to be about meditating and going to church, it’s something that gets the mind bored enough to get past all the mental chatter to reach your divine self.  It can be from baking to gardening, from running to knitting, from playing piano to painting…hiking, meditating, golfing, doing yoga, tai chi or horseback riding. It really is not so much about the form but about the connective quality of the time spent within it.

I remember as a child seeing my grandma kneading bread, crocheting or washing clothes and how calming and peaceful doing these things would make her.  Not releasing the benefits this brought to my life and hers.

It offers us time to be alone. Our society fills itself with busyness to avoid being uncomfortable, suffering and/or in pain. We fill our lives to avoid going deeper. In actuality, it is in those moments of stepping past the uncomfortable silence that we start to see and feel the inner essence of who we really are. A chance to connect to our Soul where the peace, calm and tranquility can become part of us rather than wishful thoughts.

What my spiritual practice looks like?

Wake up and start with a Prayer

My go to is Hail Of Mary

Say my personal Freedom Statement that contradicts my vows around not being good enough

“I am open to the experiences and belief that I am loved just as I am in every given moment at any given time.”

An affirmation that I’m saying lately: There is a way through every block.

Meditation is something I do weekly with intention to grow towards daily.

I give myself 10, 30, 90 day challenges to help make this practice more consistent. I enjoy challenging myself or giving myself a goal that excites me or has significant purpose.

Also, a motivation for me to keep a spiritual practice is it allows my energy healings and Life Mastery Coaching to be more effective and does not burn me out or drain my energy by the end of the day. A big bonus for my clients, family and myself!

Throughout my day, I pray. Trying to remember to always turn over my desires to God (can be your higher power) and releasing the need to control and having scarcity thoughts. Asking for guidance, help and direction.

Another suggestion: In the afternoon I may do a 20-minute yoga practice, inner child journaling, walk in nature or meditate. 20 minutes of silence while doing one of these practices.

This re-energizes you for the rest of the day! Instead of turning to coffee, meditate or yoga it out.

Long walks outdoors, connecting with nature and quieting the mind is a favorite.

I will do a prayer walk in the summer. I personally say the Rosary as I walk the perimeter of my land. And pray for others, family, our world and personal prayers.

When I sit down to dinner I pray with my family. We share roses and thorns of our day and what we are grateful for. This moment of gratitude and appreciation is one of the best parts of my day.

Finally, before bed, I close the day with a prayer with my children. We thank God for another beautiful day and ask for a peaceful night’s sleep and peace to enter all the hearts in the world.

Daily prayer has been the foundation of my life since I was a child.  However I do find myself ebb in and out. As life gets busy and life is flowing well, I have the tendency to ebb out. My practice is to stay fully present with prayer and adding meditation when life is good and not only when needed or feeling fear and overwhelm.  I’ve found that there’s nothing more important than having a spiritual practice to stay grounded and release control and fear and helpful reminder that God has my back and I can trust Him and myself.  God is within us all.

A daily spiritual practice offers you exactly what my morning mantras promise:

A way through every block. I am good enough. I am loved. God/Universe has my back

My mission as a Life Mastery Coach and Energy Medicine Practitioner is to help women release the emotional drain and exhaustion they experience so they can live their life fully and with tremendous joy and moving through life with ease and grace.

That’s why I created Fitness For The Soul Programs to help you find your way through your block so you can connect to what deeply drives you, gives you purpose and is done so with more ease and grace rather than force, drive, control and exhaustion.
